Update on COVID-19 preparedness
Ingredients
1 lb preferred pasta
1 tbsp garlic
1 tbsp oregano
5-6 tbsp of peri peri sauce (we used Trader Joe’s and fair warning: it is SPICY)
1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
For the white sauce:
4 tbsp butter
4 tbsp flour
1 cup milk
Salt and pepper
Oregano
Red pepper flakes
Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions and set aside.
- In a separate pan, marinate the chicken tenders with 1 tbsp of peri peri sauce, salt and pepper, oregano, and garlic. Cook the tenders until they are no longer pink.
- To make the white sauce: in a saucepan, add butter, flour and mix for 30 seconds. Add the milk, salt and pepper, and other seasonings and mix until a smooth paste is formed. The consistency should be smooth and not too thick.
- In a large baking dish, layer the pasta, chicken, and white sauce mixture. Repeat until all ingredients are used up.
- Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
