Ingredients
Salad Ingredients:
- 1 small head green cabbage
- 3-4 baby cucumbers
- 1/4 cup chives
- 1 bundle of green onions
Dressing Ingredients:
- 1 cup basil leaves
- 1 cup spinach leaves
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 small shallot
- Juice of 2 lemons
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 walnuts
- 1/2 cup nutritional yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- Any extra chives (optional)
Steak Ingredients:
- Crescent Foods Strip Loin Steak
- 1.5 tsp salt
- 1 tsp steak seasoning mix
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 cup oil
Method
- Bring your steak to room temperature, leaving it in room temp for 30 minutes
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F
- Season your steak by adding oil, salt, steak seasoning, and garlic powder. Rub well into the steak until well incorporated.
- Using a cast iron pan, place it on the stovetop on high heat for 5 minutes to get hot. Then add your steak, searing on both sides just to get a seared color on each side
- Then place cast iron with the steak in it into your oven for 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven and sear one last time on the stovetop to your desired level of crispy exterior. Let rest for several minutes before cutting into long strips for your salad.
- Let’s make the salad. Wash and chop all of your salad ingredients as small as you would like, it should be close to a coleslaw in size of ingredients. Place in a large bowl
- In a blender, add all of the liquid ingredients for the dressing and then the remaining dressing ingredients. Blend well until fully combined. Pour dressing over the salad.
- Mix well and serve with steak over top. Enjoy!
